Marble Manor Garden Project
Commissioner Dishonne Muhammad
Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority
The two new plots for the "Eat to Live Garden Project", at Marble Manor, will be located at 908 & 916 McWilliams. This street is very near MLK Blvd., and Bonanza, in the Marble Manor Public Housing Development. Tentatively, we would like to begin digging, the week of March 30th so that we may get our spring seeds in he ground.
We will need about 15 to 20 boy scouts, to dig out grass, in order to replace it with clean, healthy soil, for our forthcoming healthy crops! With this amount of helping hands, this shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours. We are very excited about this project, and so is the City of Las Vegas! Please let me know if your organization will be able to assist.

Community Oriented Policing
Greetings Sierra Sunrise coalition,
As you all know we are having a cleanup inside the Sierra Sunrise community in the area of Lake Mead/Hollywood on April 5, 2014. The cleanup will begin at 9am and end at noon. After the cleanup we will have a BBQ and talent show from noon to 2pm at Shadow Rock park which is walking distance from the cleanup. During the BBQ we will have informational booths like the Constables office and Avion Apartments set up. Mitchell Bryant and Cassio will be handling the logistics of the talent show. Their last talent show was January 25, 2014 at the Pearson Center off Carey Ave and it was a spectacular event! Flyers for this event will be sent to everyone very soon.
Many of you are already helping with the cleanup but we could use more volunteers. We need cleaning supplies like trash bags and gloves still. If you would like to volunteer or help in any way please email us. John Blin, Marshall Matthews, and Donna Barrett have been working to organize this event so you can bet it’s going to awesome.
