Article Summary - Training is an important part of providing aquality program for the boys in our Council.  Every boy deserves a trained leader.

The Las Vegas Area Council provides training for all areas of program, leadership, and supervision.  Regular courses are held at convenient locations in each district.

Volunteers should establish a mandate and mind-set that untrained leadership meeting with young people is unacceptable.

www.myscouting.org -- please go directly to this webpage by typing the address into your internet explorer browser. If you bookmark the page, you will be able to get back to it when you need to do additional training.  All Cub Scout Leader specific training is now available online with the exception of Webelos overnighter training and Baloo training.   

Create your account at MyScouting.org.  Write down your user name and password so you can find them when you need to renew your training.  A contact in your email client is a very good place so you do not lose that little piece of paper.   If you have forgotten your user name or password, use the "Forgot User Name" or Forgot Password" under the login area of the MyScouting.org account sign in page.

Take your specific youth protection training and Leader Specific Training.  Print out your certificates and give them to your unit training person, to get to the council office.  Make sure your Person ID gets entered into your MyScouting account once you are registered in scouting so all your training records will come directly to Scouting database.

 

Leader Specific Training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters

North Star is sponsoring an evening course.  Must attend all three sessions to be trained.  No partial credit!

Training is January 8, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
January 15, 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
January 22, 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Online Registration until 1/7/2012 and at the door registration on January 8th only!

Youth Protection (Y01) certificate must be attached to all new applications.  You will need the Youth Protection specifically for Venturing (Y02) if you are a leader in the Venturing program or Charter Organization Representative for a Venture Crew. Exploring Youth Protection is Y03.
